Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using yanggah.com or the YANGGAH mobile apps for iOS or Android (together, the "platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

Marketplace Model

YANGGAH is a multi-vendor marketplace platform. We connect independent African fashion vendors with buyers worldwide. YANGGAH is not the seller of any product listed on the platform. Each product is listed, priced, and fulfilled by the individual vendor. Vendors must be approved by YANGGAH before their products are visible to buyers.

By placing an order you enter into a contract with the relevant vendor, not with YANGGAH. YANGGAH acts as a payment intermediary and dispute facilitator only.

Escrow Payment Protection

All buyer payments are held in escrow and are not released to the vendor until one of the following occurs:

  • The buyer manually confirms receipt of the order.
  • 48 hours have elapsed since the order was marked as delivered and no dispute has been raised — at which point the funds are automatically released to the vendor.
  • A dispute is resolved in the vendor's favour by YANGGAH.

If a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour, the escrowed funds are refunded to the buyer. YANGGAH's dispute decision is final.

Platform Commission

YANGGAH deducts a platform commission from each vendor payout at the time escrow is released:

  • 15% for orders paid via Paystack (Nigerian naira, domestic payment).
  • 18% for orders paid via Stripe (international card payments).

Commission is calculated on the product subtotal only — shipping costs are excluded from the commission base. Vendors agree to these rates when they apply to sell on YANGGAH.

Currency and FX Conversion

Vendors on YANGGAH price their products in their own local currency — for example, a UK-based vendor prices in GBP and a Nigerian vendor prices in NGN. The currency is shown clearly on every product page and at checkout.

When you buy from a vendor whose currency differs from yours, the order total is converted using a live mid-market exchange rate plus a 2.5% FX margin retained by YANGGAH to cover currency risk and conversion costs. If you and the vendor share the same currency, no conversion is applied.

The exchange rate is locked for 20 minutes once you proceed to payment. If the lock expires before payment is completed, you will be asked to confirm the updated rate. The locked rate is displayed clearly at checkout.

Shipping and Customs

Shipping is charged per vendor package. Each vendor sets their own shipping rates per destination zone (e.g. Local, Nigeria, United Kingdom, Europe, USA). The rate applicable to your delivery country is shown in the order summary at checkout before you pay. Where a vendor has not configured a rate for your region, a platform estimate is displayed and labelled accordingly.

For international orders, any customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees imposed by the destination country are the sole responsibility of the buyer. YANGGAH has no control over these charges and will not reimburse them.

Fabric Orders and Yardage Pricing

Fabric products on YANGGAH are priced by yardage. Each listing shows a base price that covers a specific number of yards set by the vendor (e.g. £95 for 4 yards). A per-yard adjustment rate is also set by the vendor (e.g. ±£10 per yard).

  • You can increase or decrease the number of yards on the product page using the yards selector.
  • The price updates automatically: each yard above or below the base quantity adds or deducts the vendor's per-yard rate.
  • Each vendor sets a minimum yardage for their fabric listings. You cannot order below this minimum. The default minimum is 3 yards unless the vendor specifies otherwise.
  • The final adjusted price for your selected yardage is shown clearly before you add the item to your cart and again at checkout.

The yardage you select is passed directly to the vendor with your order so they know exactly how much fabric to prepare and dispatch.

Custom Orders and Measurements

Some products on YANGGAH are listed as custom / made-to-order. These items are tailored to your body measurements rather than cut to a standard size.

  • When you click Add to Cart on a custom product, a measurement form will appear listing every measurement the vendor requires (e.g. chest, waist, hip, length).
  • You must complete all required fields before the item can be added to your cart.
  • You can save your measurements to your profile under My Account → Profile. Saved measurements pre-fill automatically on future custom orders — no need to re-enter them each time.
  • All measurements are entered in inches. Refer to our Measurement Guide for instructions on how to measure correctly.
  • By submitting measurements you confirm they are accurate. YANGGAH and the vendor are not responsible for poor fit resulting from incorrect measurements provided by the buyer.

Order Tracking

When a vendor dispatches your order they will mark it as shipped on the platform and may provide a tracking number and/or a direct tracking link. You will receive an email notification the moment your parcel is marked as shipped, including any tracking details provided by the vendor.

You can also view your tracking number and follow the tracking link at any time from your order page under My Account → Orders. If a vendor has not provided tracking information within a reasonable period after the estimated dispatch date, please contact them directly through the platform or reach out to support@yanggah.com.

Designer Routing (Route to a Studio)

YANGGAH offers a Designer Routing feature that lets you redirect a vendor's parcel directly to a designer or tailor's studio on the platform — for example, if you are purchasing fabric and want it sent straight to a designer for garment construction.

  • At checkout, you can search for a verified YANGGAH designer by name and select them as the delivery destination for a specific vendor package.
  • The designer's studio address is never shown to you. It is stored securely and shared with the courier only. This protects the privacy of designer vendors on the platform.
  • The selected designer will receive an automatic email notification informing them that a parcel is on its way, including the fabric vendor's name and your order reference.
  • Once you select a designer for routing, you accept that the parcel will be delivered to that studio. Standard dispute and escrow protections still apply.

Platform Messaging and Conduct

YANGGAH provides an in-platform messaging system for buyers and vendors to communicate about orders. All messages are subject to moderation. By sending messages on YANGGAH you agree that:

  • Messages must be courteous and relevant to the order. Harassment, threats, offensive language, and spam are prohibited.
  • Messages are reviewed by YANGGAH and may be flagged automatically or by the other party.
  • YANGGAH may issue a formal warning, temporarily suspend your ability to send messages, or remove access to the messaging system for repeated or serious violations.
  • Buyers may send a maximum of 10 messages per hour per vendor order to prevent abuse.
  • YANGGAH may remove individual messages that violate these rules. A placeholder will be shown in place of the removed message.

Messaging suspension does not affect your ability to manage your account, place orders, or raise disputes through other channels. Persistent violations may result in full account suspension.

Disputes

If your order does not arrive, arrives damaged, or is significantly not as described, you may raise a dispute within the 48-hour inspection window via your order page or by emailing support@yanggah.com.

YANGGAH will review the dispute with both parties. We may request photos, shipping evidence, or other documentation. Either party may attach images or files directly to the dispute as evidence; these uploads are visible to the other party and to YANGGAH support, and are retained for the duration of the dispute and our standard record-keeping period. YANGGAH's decision on the dispute outcome is final and binding. Escrow funds remain frozen while a dispute is open.

Promo Codes

Vendors on YANGGAH may issue promotional codes that offer a discount on their own products. The following rules apply to all promo codes unless a vendor specifies stricter terms:

  • Each code is vendor-scoped and can only be applied to items sold by the vendor who issued it.
  • Codes are subject to usage limits, minimum order values, and expiry dates set by the vendor. The applicable limits are shown before you apply the code at checkout.
  • Codes are non-transferable, hold no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for credit.
  • Only one code may be applied per vendor package unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • YANGGAH may invalidate or revoke any code that has been shared publicly in breach of its intended use, exploited through multiple accounts, or otherwise abused.

If an order that used a promo code is refunded or cancelled, the redemption may be returned to your account at YANGGAH's discretion, subject to the code still being valid.

Following Designers & Notifications

You can follow vendors on YANGGAH to stay updated on their new listings and activity. Following a vendor may enrol you in an optional daily digest email that summarises updates from the designers you follow. You will also receive transactional notifications (email, push, and in-app) for events related to your orders, messages, and disputes.

You can unfollow any vendor at any time, and you can toggle the daily digest off from your account settings. Push notifications can be disabled from your device's system settings. Transactional notifications that are required for the service to operate cannot be disabled while your account is active.

Reviews and Vendor Replies

Buyers may leave reviews on orders they have placed. Vendors may post a single public reply to each review of their products. Review replies are displayed alongside the original review and are subject to the same conduct rules as platform messaging — harassment, threats, personal attacks, and offensive language are prohibited. YANGGAH may remove or edit any review or reply that violates these rules.

Mobile App

The YANGGAH mobile apps for iOS and Android are licensed to you, not sold. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the apps on devices you own or control, solely for accessing the YANGGAH service in accordance with these Terms.

  • If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, you are additionally bound by the Apple Media Services EULA. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support for the app.
  • If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google's Play Terms of Service apply in addition to these Terms.
  • We may update, modify, or discontinue the apps (or individual features) at any time. You are responsible for installing updates where required for the app to continue functioning.
  • Reverse-engineering, repackaging, or redistributing the app is prohibited except where such restrictions are disallowed by applicable law.

Account Registration

You must register for an account to make purchases or list products. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@yanggah.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Listing counterfeit, stolen, or prohibited goods.
  • Circumventing the escrow system or making off-platform payments.
  • Providing false information to win a dispute.
  • Creating multiple accounts to abuse the platform.
  • Any activity that violates applicable law.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of escrowed funds.

Intellectual Property

The YANGGAH brand, platform design, and software are proprietary to YANGGAH. Vendors retain ownership of their product photography and descriptions but grant YANGGAH a non-exclusive licence to display them on the platform for the duration of their listing.

Limitation of Liability

YANGGAH's liability to any party is limited to the total amount of the order in dispute. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, delays caused by carriers, customs holds, or events outside our reasonable control. As a marketplace operator YANGGAH is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of vendor products.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute not resolved through YANGGAH's dispute process shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
